Interbulk's Solid Fuels Department serves as the interface between the fuel wholesale fuels markets for Italcementi Group.
 The main objective Solid Fuels Department is pursuing is to source solid fuels, mainly petroleum coke and steam coal, for the Group companies and other wholesale consumers on worldwide basis, while focusing on full customer satisfaction in terms of required quality specifications, competitive prices, reliability and flexibility of deliveries, as well as continued commitment to environmental sustainability issues.
Our  Solid Fuels Department reaches its goals leveraging on:
- a world class market knowledge and decades of experience in solid fuels sourcing for the cement industry
- the strong relationships and consolidated network established with major oil companies, coal producers and traders
- economies of scale and cost-effectiveness, by procuring large volumes of fuel for several customers and locking in prices through long-term contracts; traded volumes have grown consistently over the years (about 3.5 Mtons traded in 2007)
- flexible delivery schedules according to customers' needs and priorities
- partnerships / minority stakes in coal mining companies, aiming at increasing available volumes to sustain the Group’s growth
- enhancing the use of alternative fuels to decrease the reliance on traditional solid fuels and complying with local environmental regulations.
